UNION PACIFIC INSTALLS NEW TIES THROUGHOUT KANSAS

This Union Pacific Railroad crew changed switch ties from an off-track position — and they move fast!

Working through miles of track near Belvue, Kansas, the crew used the DymaxRail Tie Inserter to replace switch ties without occupying the track with full-size equipment.

The lead excavator, equipped with a heavy-duty 360 rotator, cleared the cribs and removed old ties with a Dymax Cribbing Bucket. The second machine followed behind with the Tie Inserter, placing and setting new ties at each switch location.

Once set, the crew clipped and fastened the new ties, then moved straight on to the next switch. No wasted motion. No unnecessary downtime. Just efficient off-track work that kept the job on schedule.
