SG60 — Excavator

The SG60 mounts on 12-ton hydraulic excavators. It includes a 60° hydraulic rotator and an electro-hydraulic valve kit. The telescopic arm extends from 68 in to 93 in. Load-holding cylinders keep rail locked through the full range of motion. Ships with a storage stand and machine adapter with pins. Weight: 2,200 lbs.

SG360 — Grapple Truck

The SG360 is built for Class 10 grapple trucks and crane machinery. It uses a 360° rotator with a 10-ton clevis mount. The center carriage adjusts manually for insulated jointed rail. Telescopic arm extends from 68 in to 93 in. Weight: 1,500 lbs.

Option: can be configured to fit Kinshofer or alternate rotation systems.

SGTRQ — Tiltrotator Hookup

The SGTRQ connects directly to tiltrotator coupler systems on excavators. No separate rotator — the tiltrotator provides positioning. Same over-center lock grip and telescopic arm (68 in to 93 in) as the other SG models. Single hydraulic circuit operation. Weight: 1,200 lbs.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RAIL HANDLER SG AND THE RAIL HANDLER LG?

The SG handles rail up to 40 ft. The LG handles 80–100 ft.

The SG mounts on 12-ton excavators, grapple trucks, and backhoe loaders. The LG requires a 20-ton excavator.

The SG is built for spot replacement, IJ handling, and railcar unloading. The LG is designed for high-volume work like delivering rail to flash butt welders.

The SG uses an over-center lock. The LG uses a positive-lock system. Both hold rail without sliding.

WHAT IS AN OVER-CENTER LOCK AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

An over-center lock pushes the grapple jaws past their center point and holds them there mechanically. The rail can’t slide out, even if hydraulic pressure drops.

This matters most when handling insulated joints. IJs have a smooth joint sleeve that standard friction grapples can slip on. The SG’s over-center lock eliminates that risk.

WHAT MACHINES DOES THE RAIL HANDLER SG FIT?

Three models cover three machine types. The SG60 fits 12-ton hydraulic excavators. The SG360 fits Class 10 grapple trucks and cranes. The SGTRQ connects to tiltrotator coupler systems on excavators and backhoe loaders. All models bolt on with a machine adapter and pins.

CAN THE SG360 BE ADAPTED TO DIFFERENT ROTATION SYSTEMS?
